Dental Tourism

Looking for affordable dental treatment and wanting to travel for it? Read this quick blog to find out the facts.

Dental tourism is the practice of traveling outside of one's country to get dental care. It could be for implants, root canals, all on 4, all on 6, implant dentures, crowns, or just routine cleanings. It's simply anytime anyone leaves their own country and travels to another for discounted work.

The market experts project dental tourism to break the 5 billion dollar mark by 2025, so that tells us it's VERY common! While dental insurance is not provided by the government in the U.S., many people feel they have no option but to travel if they need a lot of work done.

While the rates are cheaper, and money is saved, there are quite a few risks. Risks include but are not limited to: lack of sanitation guidelines, security threats, implant failure (we'll get to that later), and also COVID risks.

None of these risks should be scoffed at, however, implant failure sticks out as the main reason we do not recommend dental tourism. If your dental implant or implant denture fails or has issues, you have two options: 1. Travel BACK to the country to see the dentist that did your work, or 2. See a dentist in the U.S. Whichever option you choose, it's expensive and makes the initial visit not worth it.

Here we have finished work from a number of countries. Of course we are happy to do this, but we'd rather you see us from the beginning. We offer a complimentary consultation for implants and implant dentures, and our all on 4/6 procedure, Restore in 24, and we also offer financing options.

If you'd like to schedule an appointment, whether you are returning from a dental tourism trip, or just looking for a neighborhood dentist. Give us a call at 678-293-8773.
